Chances are if you’re looking at this page, you’re wondering what makes Darrell Ponder a good coach? Well this site will hopefully answer these questions! I have had quite a bit of playing experience and have a good knowledge of the game. My resume for coaching is as follows.

These experiences coming both at the high school and college level.

My Coaching Philosophy is as follows:

In my eyes on my team every player will be given a fair and equal chance to make an impact on the game at hand.  I hope to specialize specifically in Offensive and Defensive Line so primarily I hope to coach kids at these positions.  Every athlete will be in my rotation as I believe in keeping my guys fresh by rotating in and out similar to line changes in Hockey that’s what I plan to do with my offensive and defensive lines.

I believe in being a coach for the players, meaning if a player sees something on the field and offers a suggestion I will take in account of this and communicate with others on staff to implement these.

Coaching ethically is definitely my goal, as I previously stated what kind of role model would I be if I didn’t follow the rules, and tried to skirt past the rules. In turn my players would do the same, which is an absolute no to me, if its ok for me its ok for them as well.

A lot of times athletes need guidance, because they may or may not have that at home. I plan to be active in my athletes lives at any and all costs. This is important to me I will establish a parent type relationship with my players and this will be year round not just while we are in season these kids don’t just need guidance during the season but all the time.

My motto as a coach: “wins outside of the game of football, and those in the game of life are equally important.”
